What we do

Global Marketplace is the head company of:

  • Click Frenzy Pty Ltd (Australia’s leading producer of online shopping events),
  • Power Retail Pty Ltd (Australia’s number one resource for digital retail professionals),
  • GrabOne (one of the largest daily deals websites in New Zealand and one of the largest eCommerce websites in New Zealand).

For the past decade, we have continued to impact the e-commerce economy and deliver value for global technology businesses, premium retail brands, and millions of consumers.

At Global Marketplace, we provide the following products and services to the e-commerce industry, clients and customers.

Our History

Global Marketplace Pty Ltd is the parent company of Power Retail Pty Ltd, Click Frenzy Pty Ltd, and GrabOne (New Zealand).

Global Marketplace was formerly “The Media Pad” and was founded in 2007 by Grant Arnott as a business media company. Starting in Grant’s living room, the business grew organically and developed a specialisation in the then-emerging area of online retail.

The Media Pad launched the website Power Retail in 2010, relocating from Grant’s apartment to offices in Mount Waverley. Power Retail instantly became Australia’s leading news and information resource for online and multichannel retailers, and remains so to this day. Power Retail has evolved from a digital-only media resource to a thriving multi-media platform incorporating a website and weekly newsletter, over 50 special reports, printed books (the annual E-Commerce Leaders’ Playbook and a number of other publications), and events, including the annual All Star Bash celebrating the leading online retailers in Australia. in 2019, the company name The Media Pad name was retired and Power Retail became the new company name.

Click Frenzy was founded in 2012, with Grant partnering with co-founder Peter Krideras to launch Australia’s first 24 hour online mega sale event in November that year. An Australian event for the Australian retail industry, Click Frenzy achieved extraordinary national attention in its first year, and is a key event on the annual retail industry calendar. In addition to the flagship event held on the third Tuesday of November, Click Frenzy also runs Mayhem in May, and Travel Frenzy in August, along with regular email marketing campaigns throughout the year to its large subscriber base.

Together the companies service the full spectrum of the online retail sector across Australia, with Power Retail providing an invaluable resource for digital retail businesses and Click Frenzy providing a high value channel for retailers to promote exceptional deals to a mass audience of online shoppers.

Click Frenzy

Click Frenzy provides Australian consumers with significant 24-hour online retail shopping events throughout the year. Click Frenzy works with participating retailers to bring shoppers all the best deals and exclusive offers from throughout the retail industry and centralises them into the one online shopping experience. Shoppers can browse through thousands of deals and once they’re ready to make a purchase they will be linked through to the relevant retailer to complete their purchases.

Click Frenzy began in 2012 by our founder and Head of Innovation, Grant Arnott. After travelling to the United States and seeing how online mega sales such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday were taking off, he decided to bring the idea of hosting a centralised online shopping event to Australia, and from there Click Frenzy was born.

Starting from the first Click Frenzy event in November 2012, and now growing to over 4 mega sales per year, Click Frenzy brings together a host of premium retailers from a range of categories including Fashion, Travel, Home & Décor, Electronics and more, and some of Australia’s most exclusive deals and bargains, into an epic shopping experience like no other.

Power Retail

Power Retail supports the online retail and multi-channel industry by providing up to date and relevant publications and events for online retailers. For more than 10 years, Power Retail has been helping Australian online retailers and industry suppliers improve performance and profit. The range of products and critical intelligence tools make Power Retail an essential partner in e-commerce.

Power Retail also hosts the annual All Star Bash. The All Star Bash is a massive annual event celebrating the all stars of digital retail through the launch of Power Retail’s Top 100 Online Retailers list.

The All Star Bash features a star-studded line-up of online retailers. Dressed to the nines, the champions of e-commerce gather to celebrate success and kick off the calendar year. Previous year’s Bash have  been attended by leading retailers including Myer, JB Hi-Fi, Bonds, 2XU, Showpo, Qatar Airways and many other great brands.

Power Retail’s news content is an information resource for the online retail industry, catering for all levels of business, from loungeroom start-ups to established multichannel powerhouses. It exists to help bridge the knowledge gap between what is being done and what can be done in online and multichannel retailing.
